Look Who is going to be a Volunteer (AGAIN !!)

Yes, what you have heard is true. I am resigning my paid Deputy Fire Chief position effective 0900 on September 27th. I have been offered and accepted a position at the Fairbanks North Star Borough in the Emergency Operations Department as the Administrator.

This was a very hard decision for me to make. Believe me, it was not an easy task. In the end, it is the best for me and my family. I have put many years into the department in many different capacities. I DO PLAN to stay on the department as a Chief Officer as a VOLUNTEER.

I, in no way, look at this as goodbye. I look at it as a change of pace. I’ll still be around for you to ask questions and come to with concerns and the like. I will be around, just in a different capacity.

On a lighter note: Anyone know how much stuff you can accumulate in an office in 18 years? Stop by on Saturday and I’ll show you!!! WHEW……..

Onward and Upward, See you on scene,

Brad

Congrats Brad!! Best of luck with the new position!! - Jack Fletcher

Deputy Chief Paulson-

I hate to see you resign, but am very happy to see that you will stay active as a volunteer. Over my years here at CGFR I have never been on your shift but have always enjoyed and learned from your instruction. You were also great to work with on the fire scene.

Congratulations on your new position with the FNSB, I wish you well.

See you around,
Firefighter J. Wood

Wow... actually having to work for a change. That'll be different.
